The making of this cloth defies sanity. Its made on a loom thats powered by hands and feet. Just for fun  its also hand loomed with the finest cotton thread available. Finest! A thinner cotton thread does NOT exist. And handmade means no electricity even touches the loom. Now as if making 2 inches of fabric per hour wasn't slow enough, Karthik added the hand-embroidered motifs to it. But its embroidery ON the loom. Picture that for a second. This technique is called "jamdani" and seeing the way Karthik (our partner weaver) likes making this type of fabric, we are sure that he is a maniac. An incredible artist, but a maniac nonetheless.
