Rare Double Gauze - 1/2 yard

Have you ever noticed how delicate double gauze is? Probably you have seen it in baby clothes and bedding. Its cuddly and fluffy in a unique way. Thats because it's two layers of fine gauze stitched together with almost invisible threads. Air gets trapped between the two layers and thats what makes it fluffy.
Now Imagine setting up threads for a double gauze on a handloom. As if weaving one layer on a human-powered loom isn't difficult enough, now you are making two layers. Not one after the other. Both are made together. Don't ask us how its done. If we were that smart we would have been engineers.
This fabric was made by a visibly irritated Indian master weaver in a shed messing about with a zillion threads. There was his half torn notebook, his illegible notes in Bengali,no machines, no electricity, a very beat up wooden loom and several generations worth of knowledge of textiles.
