This cloth is made on a loom thats powered by hands and feet. The loom is similar to those now kept in museums in most other countries. Its impressive to see how slow and meticulous this fabric making process is, especially when we are surrounded by fast fashion. This Indian-take-on-tweed is made in a part of India known for its sweet talking people, harsh summers and simple but spectacular food. The base of this fabric is base from thick cotton in the warp. The weft is a gorgeous blend of cotton and silk multicolor fibers which we can take no credit for. This is just what the weaver made on his own. Its a jacket weight cotton silk blend. As long as you wash it gently by hand or dry clean it, it will last you a long time. Perhaps longer than you are used to.
