Chiquita Grid - 1/2 yard
This cotton was so prized at one time that French women were banned from wearing it. We guess it made French linen inadequate. This cloth is made on a loom that is powered by hands and feet. Its impressive to see how slow and meticulous this fabric making process is. Made from the thinnest cotton possible when you wear something made of this fabric you can easily handle the Arizona heat in July. Its no wonder that the nerdy Indians found a way to weave such light cotton even 400 years ago. Many parts of India who make handloomed textiles cannot even handle such thin cotton yarn. Is it special then? Hell yeah! And if you think such a spectacularly thin handloomed fabric can just go in the 35 minute pulling and tugging in the washer, then we need to talk.
